Benefit 'Fine One One'

Is it a bronzer?  Is it a highlighter?  Or is it a cream blush?

All three in fact and what a way to get your glow back with a 'true' dewy tint for cheeks in an easy sweep.  Thanks to Benefit's twist up applicator all you have to do is glide along the cheek contour in a crescent shape, then blend the trio of colours for a natural delight with 'benefits'.

Finally, this is by no means new but worth a mention because, well, I just can and I love it to bits.  The 8 shades of Une's Breezy Cheeks achieve super natural hints of colour to cheeks with a compatible mirrored compact for easy storage at home or on the go.  I wear this myself and its so comfortable and I love, love, love that 'barely there' blush.

Clinique have not only upped the oomph of colour with their NEW Chubby Stick Intense but also have hit us with the sensational coral, 04 Heftiest Hibiscus.  Not the best name for such an adorable shade, I'd prefer to call it High Corral Coral!

Spring / Summer 2013: Antique Silver eyes and Watermelon Lips!

Lucky old me, I get to work on such a variety of shoots and that's how I like it.  Some are more creative than others, that's fine with me though when I have artistic licence to do be inspired by Fashion Designer, Suzannah S/S 13 collection, I am momentarily floating on powder puffs!

Suzannah, unrivalled designer of quintessentially British fashion with vintage charm, has unleashed refreshing watermelon tones as well as her ever popular cool minks so I mixed up the exact shade for lips for her Look Book shoot a few weeks ago.  

For this I used a combination of OCC Lip Tars and Chanel Rouge Coco Sari Dore to create a creamy block of watermelon.  

Eyes were laid with Ellis Faas Lights of soft sparkle in shades Antique Silver on lids surrounded by Green Gold, topped off with A/W addition YSL Volume Mascara in Khaki.

Hmm, how delicious to finish with watermelon lips, I'm looking forward to sporting this look next Summer, bring it on!!

Spring = Colour!

I am desperately pining for the warmer weather to kick in; to reveal my coral pink toes, flushed cheeks and my 'sort of' all year round tan!
So in today's blog, instead of whetting your appetites with the lastest beauty launches, innovative tools and cutting edge beauty finds from my make-up kit, all I want to say is 'Get some colour on'.
Play, experiment or try something totally new.  Dust off that eyeshadow you've left at the back of the drawer, delve deeper into you make-up bag for those long lost liquid liners you had longed for, once upon a time.
I have already been sporting the powdered, bold bright lips as seen in DVF S/S shows and it is perking up my sallow, sun seeking skin, revealing a fresher, new look for 2011. So ladies, zip up, be brave and add a dash of colour.  I promise you already have a great product just waiting to be tried and tested.
